2 Kinds of Shower Doors You Can Choose From

Blog

When you are redoing your bathroom, there are a lot of things that you have to think about. You might not realize that one of the things that you are going to have to think about is what kind of door you put on your shower. It may not seem like that big a deal, but the wrong shower door can make it frustrating every time you take a shower. There are a lot of different kinds of shower doors that you can choose from.

Sliding Doors

Sliding doors are pretty much the most common kind of shower doors. They are often used as the default, especially on shower/bathtub combinations. The doors run on tracks that are set on the bathtub and that are attached to the walls above head height. The sliding doors generally come in pairs, so when they open, one slides in front of the other.

Sliding doors can also be put on standalone showers, but the problem is that they start to take up room, which can be problematic. They also may not work on every shower unit. For example, sliding doors don't work well for corner showers.

Rounded Doors

These doors work really well for corner units. The glass around the door and the door are rounded out somewhat. That allows you to have more room in the shower, especially since corner units are often used in places where space is tight. A straight door would make it hard for someone to have the room that they need while they are in the shower. These shower doors also open into the shower instead of out into the room.

If you aren't going to have a lot of room in your bathroom or the door opening is going to be right up against a wall, the rounded door is going to be a good choice. You don't have to fight with the wall in order to open up the door all the way so that you can get into and out of the shower. You may also find that rounded doors may be easier for you to clean around since there aren't any corners for dirt and such to get caught in.

Finding the right shower door for your bathroom is more important than you may realize. There are all kinds of doors out there that you can choose from and they all have their pros and cons. To learn more about your shower doors options, contact services like Beach Glass & Window Company.

thinking through the window buying process

One thing I disliked about my house when I bought it was the fact that the windows were all so small. My house is in a beautiful country setting with no neighbors anywhere to be seen, so I couldn't understand why anyone would want to block the scenery out of the home. I started looking for oversize windows that I could use to bring the stunning country setting inside the home. I find all sorts of windows that would accomplish what I wanted and created a blog to help me choose what windows would be best for my home. Maybe, my thought process can help you find the perfect windows for your home.
